Low Carb Buttermilk Waffles Made With Almond Flour

It seems I get craving for waffles ever since I started on this low carb diet. So I saw one of my favorite YouTube cooking channel video’s of a woman making these low carb waffles with almond flour and I thought why not give it a shot. So I had to break out the warring pro waffle maker and went to work making them for brunch. And oh boy were they light and delicious and they did hit the spot.

Low Carb Buttermilk Waffles Made With Almond Flour Recipe

Ingredients:

for waffles mix

1 cup of almond flour

2 tablespoons of baking powder

1 tablespoon of buttermilk powder and ½ cup of water or ½ cup of actual buttermilk

(the buttermilk is optional)

1 teaspoon of almond or vanilla extract

1 pinch of salt

2 eggs (beaten)

1 tablespoon of agave power

and other Ingredients:

1 tablespoon of butter (optional)

½ cup of walnuts

½ cup of whipped cream (optional)

agave syrup

Pam cooking spray

plus

waffle iron

mixing bowl

Directions: 

1. Get waffle iron hot.

2. Beat eggs and then add all the ingredients for the waffle mix and blend it all together.

3. Spray iron with cooking spray then pour in half the mixture onto iron to cook for about 1 to 2 minutes till done.

4. Serve waffles with a little butter, a sprinkle of walnuts, agave syrup and a tablespoon of whipped cream on top. And your GOOD! (Smile)

This recipe makes two large waffles.
