Winter, spring, summer, and fall, I just enjoy all of the seasons but I believe my true love is winter.
And although I don’t like the cold, I like that in the midst of the cold I can easily sit by a fire or a heat source to stay warm.
So far my true love has brought us some very warm days and cold, chilly nights because here in the South early winters are kinda mild and become harsher as winter progresses and so I like that too.
I enjoy looking out my window watching tiny little birds hopping across the snow seeing blankets of snow on the trees, and wearing warm, comfortable, soft clothing indoors, and putting on a wool scarf, hat, mittens, boots, and coat to go outdoors and snuggling under soft blankets as I sleep.
My fridge is stocked with lots of eggnogs and on my kitchen counter is a little canister of mixed holiday hard candies as days go by I sip on various kinds of beverages like hot cocoa, chai tea, or frothy caramel coffee in some of my favorite winter mugs. My husband loves it when I stick an apple or cherry pie in the oven to bake on the weekends. There’s nothing like a slice that’s topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
I love looking through cookbooks all winter long picking and choosing what types of meals we should make. But our favorites are the standard hot oats, or eggs, toast with beef bacon, grits or pancakes for breakfast, and lots of different kinds of homemade soups for lunches, and we love having pots of mild chili with beans, or lasagna, or spicy tomato meat sauce over thin spaghetti for dinners with crusty rolls or bread and vegetables like kale, collards, mustard’s or turnip greens, string beans, broccoli, pumpkin, squash, and baked sweet potatoes all winter long which nourishes and builds us in body and soul.

Winter reminds me of the way life should be, slow but steady in that it’s time to slow down a bit and take time to care for me and mine. It says it’s time to go into pamper mode, so I love taking more steamy hot showers and stocking up on body scrubs, shower gels, and yummy lotions as a reward for doing body stretches and exercise. And I love soaking my feet in toasty warm scented water doing mani’s and pedi’s and applying beautiful nail polish on my toenails and fingernails afterward. And deep conditioning and washing and caring for my hair as I like to slowly brush my hair and play soft music as I prepare for sleep at night.
My favorite body scrubs, lotions, and potions are from Victoria Secrets. I’m hooked on it…
1. Honey lavender soothing body lotion with pure honey and lavender extract
(this one is my most favorite, it smells amazing and it’s rich, creamy, and goes on smooth on the skin, making your skin so soft and the fragrance lingers for a long time. It smells like the sweetest honey but laced in lavender 💜)
2. Coco vanilla comforting body lotion with vanilla bean and coconut oil
3. Honey cranberry glow-boosting body lotion with pure honey and cranberry extract
4. Basic comforts body lotion in pumpkin spice latte and whipped cream
5. Basic comforts body lotion in basic vanilla with toasted marshmallow and warm chai
(I carry this one in my bag/purse to apply to my hands several times a day, it smells amazing and keeps your hands baby soft)
6. Honey lavender body scrub with pure honey and lavender extract

I tell you all I need is to read poems about winter and snuggle up with just a few charming and delightful books. I picked up…
1. The Feast Of Roses by Indu Sundaresan
2. Shadow Princess by Indu Sundaresan
3. The Twentieth Wife by Indu Sundaresan
~and~
4. Kade by Madeline Baker
(I’m so hooked on Madeline Baker’s Indian romance novels, she writes so well that I don’t want to put her books down)
Does anyone care to join me in reading these particular books? Well, you certainly are welcome to do so. I hope you do.
And I have a few beautiful and colorful diamond paintings, crossword, and jigsaw puzzles to complete as well.

I also think that wintertime is one of the best times to get help with deep cleaning, decluttering, and decorating each room. There’s nothing like slow and deliberate house blessing. I feel that a house should always stay fresh smelling and clean all winter long so that by the time spring rolls around more time can be spent enjoying the outdoors and not be stuck indoors cleaning.
Here’s a list of some of the names of my favorites scented candles and wax melts I have going throughout the house:
Wax melts:
1. Blueberry cheesecake
2. Waffles and Ice cream
3. Sugared donuts
4. Pecan butter tart
5. Pineapple cake pop
6. Wild berries
7. Pumpkin caramel swirl
Candles: (3wick)

2. Strawberry cake pop
3. Cotton candy
