Lights Out Again! No Problem: Prepping

~~~
Recently, once again we had a power outage and this time they went out in the middle of the night and so we had to scramble around in the dark looking for a flashlight and so it seems each time we have one I get new and better ideas on how to deal a little better with it for the next go around.
So, in addition to the few we already had, I went ahead and purchased a box of twelve COB LED dual and single switch lights and a few solar light bulbs.
Once they arrived I loaded the light switches with Duracell batteries then proceeded to stick at least one in each room, bathroom and hallway on the walls just above every light switch using command refill strips. I also put a few in the closets, and under the sinks in the kitchen and bathrooms. And the reason I chose to use the command strips this time is so if and when I have to change the batteries I could easily remove the switch from the wall, change the battery and put it back up with another command strip.
I like that we did this because whenever we get up to use the bathroom at night we can turn on those switches instead. And I like that we know if the lights go out in the middle of the night again during a power outage we won’t be scrambling around for a flashlight because we are prepared and set up for the next one. All we’ll do is turn on the switches as we need them. And it is amazing that they are so bright.
So, in addition to setting things up this way for the next power outage, I thought a tabletop hibachi would come in pretty handy too as it saves on charcoal because it uses way less charcoal than with a regular or larger grill. Which we can use to cook our food outdoors during the day the next time the lights go out on us for a couple of days.
OMG! This video is so cute and funny I figured it would be great for this topic.
