Come To Me…. My Eyes Are Looking For You

~~~
“Did you hear that, sir?” Mother says….
I have grown up now…
your gaze has bloomed my youth.
It’s been months now, how long”
will you talk with your eyes?
“Once at least tell me,” Roopa you are my…
“I can say that… But, how can I?”
(she blushes and smiles to herself)
how can I say, I cannot say.
~Roopa (Mala Sinha)~
It was love at first sight. In the beginning they’d never say a word to each other, there was only awe, silence and appreciation.
Dhunde tujhko nain deewaane aa ja aa ja rey
“Come to me, my eyes”
“are looking for you
~~~

~~~
They’d only gaze into each others eyes, letting their eyes do all the speaking, lovingly, as they sang their favorite lovely song to each other.
In naino ki pyas bhujhane aaja aaja rey
Come and quench the thirst
“of these eyes, come to me
~~~

The beautiful dreamy eyed Roopa (Mala Sinha) and the handsome Ravi (Dharmedra/Dharam Singh Deol) hardly could wait till the days they’d get to see each other again and again.

So as his train would roll into the station near her village, their signature song would ring out in harmony from their souls…. their voices, their song would reverberate through out the mountains, hillsides and the hilltops……. Dhunde tujhko nain deewaane aa ja aa ja rey.

He sings for her to come to meet him where he is as she sings for his arrival…. In naino ki pyas bhujhane aaja aaja rey.

But it seems she is too shy to let him know her true feelings for him and he finally writes in a letter to her that he loves her but is frustrated because it seems there is always someone around once his train arrives. And whenever they get to steal a few moments alone he can’t seem to find the words he wants to say as the words get all tangled up in the thoughts in his mind.

Yab Yaad Kisi Ki Aati Hai is a 1967 film starring the famous, beautiful and talented Mala Sinha as Roopa and the gentlemanly and talented Dharmedra as Ravi. So if you want to see romance at it’s finest, look no further, because the chemistry between Roopa and Ravi is super, super amazing and you will be truly mesmerized and enchanted by their affectionate loving ways.

I especially loved the music in this film, enticing me to watch this movie more than once. It seems so easy for their care and affection to be felt through their song “Dhoonden Tujh Ko Nain Deewane” as they both sing this song it works it’s way up into your soul.

Anyway, to explain a little further the story later brings out that there are two other men in love with Roopa although she only loves Ravi and wants no one other than him. One of her admirers is the ruthless landlord who manipulates Roopa’s mother into agreeing to have them married in order to pay off her debts to him and then there is Ravi’s older brother who loves him and knows deep down inside he is also harboring secret love for Roopa as well.

But as the story spins on you will come to know interestingly so who’s the one out of the three that wins Roopa’s love and hand in marriage.

I hope I peaked your interest in this movie that you feel you must take time to go watch it (Smile) because it’s a keeper in my book. This movie has become one more of my many favorite Hindi movies to love.
