You’re Not Built That Way….. How A Women Cares For Her Body & Feminine Issues Should Go Back To Being Discreetly Handled And Discussed In Private Part One: Woman To Woman Series

What’s come over you, acting like you do, trying to be rough…

you aren’t built that way.

And when somebody cute tries to be a brute (she) may find it tough,

oh if (she’s) not built that way….

When I was coming up it was a somewhat different world for some women. Back in those days everything my sisters and I ever learned about our bodies, sexuality and femininity came from our mother. She also took the time to teach us things like what a woman was meant to be, how she should behave and about our essence. And so over time we sisters grew up and experienced some of life together and began learning from each other, mistakes and all. Our learning expanded out as we would be around a few knowledgeable aunts, female school teachers, female school nurses and our female friends. But one thing was for sure was that we never got our womanly information from the male species. (Smile) When all the women in our circles got together there wasn’t a man within a ten mile radius. LOL! Us girls and women shared secrets, learned about our bodies and how to care for it and all sorts of things with each other with no help from the men.

Back at home my sisters and I shared the same large bedroom and it was a fact that no males were allowed anywhere near or in our bedroom under any circumstances and we liked it that way. We felt safe and happy. That’s why I always likened our bedroom to a harem where only girls and women were allowed. Our brothers nor our father dared to enter therein. LOL!

Our bedroom was filled with all things feminine and of course we had all our delicate little things in there. In our dresser draws you found all our pretty, scented and clean under garments, slips and dresses. Did I say slips. LOL! Yes we wore them under our dresses back then as we were taught modesty by wearing them. So we had our full or half slips and under garments on pretty hangers sometimes out in the open but in our private room.

If the truth be told we as young girls back then never dared to ever get any of our information from anyone of the male species. Back then men had no clue in how to teach a girl. The men didn’t want to take on that role anyway. Not even did our father dare to cross the line between the sexes. He knew to send us to our mother right away regarding all things female. There was that healthy division between the sexes back then. The differences were ones most people accepted and expected. It was normal and that’s how things were done. Men always felt uncomfortable to speak on a woman’s issues publicly because a woman’s world was considered just that, “a woman world” and the woman and girls had the decency not to speak on women’s personal subjects and issues while in the presence of a man. It was called being discreet! So there was a lot of whispering going on. (Smile)

So that’s how we lived and it was wide spread in our world and a common way of living. All women’s issues were left in the hands of woman. That was it and that was all. The men never interfered nor tried to go down that road nor enter into our areas of living nor trample on our subjects.

But today that has all changed and I feel somewhat sad for the young women today when it comes to this. Women, young girls and children are being exposed and are living in an x-rated world where everything seems to go. But lately I am seeing some women trying to bring back modesty to their lives and to their daughters and that is so refreshing to see. There are a few women and young girls out there who are starting to appreciate the differences that used to be between the sexes. But sadly as the world turns and time goes by we are seeing a loss of those wonderful and natural protections that were there for the women.

I tell you it would be nice if we could bring back some of those ways and ideas of old. Imagine women being discreet about their bodies and caring for themselves again in those old fashioned ways. Imagine a place where women can go to learn from other women on how to be women again. Where we could share secrets behind closed doors, discreetly but in a private space where there was less shame and no men allowed.

So you have woman letting go of their real selves in exchange for roughness and toughness and so this is what this world emulates and glorifies. You see woman rapping like men, acting like men and some of the men are complaining that women aren’t behaving like woman, nor being ladylike anymore. While at the same time you see men disrespecting women and mistreating them which is so unfair. So we have the girls and women wanting and learning to be rough and tough in our mannerisms and ways. I tell you for far too long you can see women trying to either out do the men and are comfortable swearing, over drinking, getting drunk, smoking, dressing, having sexual one nighters and moving just like the men, thinking its all good. But no! We are not men! The Most High made us different. And so as a result of living this way you see women are suffering from the same types of ailments and diseases that only men use to suffer from. It’s as if we already don’t have our share of things we go through as women.

Statistics show that depression is found to be more common among women then men, due to our biological and hormonal differences along with all the social factors that are only unique to us being women.

So it’s high time we turn back the hands of time just enough to make a change for our own well being.

Imagine a time when it was ok for a woman to be feminine, charming, timeless and delicate all at the same time. A time when men were gentlemanly enough to hold open your door and brought you flowers. We need that again.

“You’re Not Built That Way”

I tell you I just adore this cute little long ago cartoon as it is about two dogs, one is trying to be what he is not. It makes a clear statement.
