In case some fans of Star Plus and Star Bharat in America didn’t know, I got the bad news this week and was so disappointed to find out that two (2) of my favorite channels are leaving our cable company… Dish to be exact. I think Dish was the last of several cable companies here in America to hold on to these and many other Hindi serials channels and so I don’t know why, or what is happening but they are now saying their contract with dish is ending. So where do us Hindi fans go from here? Does anyone know?
I tell you I am going to miss these two channels from my Hindi lineup (they say Zee tv and a few others are remaining though, thank goodness for that) as I watched them for many, many years loving all my favorite Hindi serials on there. And especially now with the love of my new favorite show being “Kullfi Kumarr Bajewalla” now it will be extra difficult to say goodbye midway thru this new amazing show. Oh well, at least I did get to see Kullfi’s reaction when it was finally revealed to her the truth that Sikander is her natural father (feel free to see my latest post- Kullfi Knows!)
So as much as I hate knowing this but unfortunately this is something that is beyond my control. Almost like the time when the amazing actress Giaa Manek/Gopi left “Saath Nibhana Saathiya” (a show that will go down in Hindi history as wonderful, endearing and amazing) and they replaced her with Deevoleena, who we all fell in love with too. Also when another one of my favorite shows “Ek Veer Ki Ardass Veera” ended, my heart was so broken. I loved little Veera, Nihal Singh, Ranvi, Gujan, and Ratan. I tell you both shows were equally amazing as it broke my little heart and the fan base to see them end. But us fans survived it, we had no choice but to, LOL!
So the void will be felt since they have produced some of the most amazing shows, writers, actors, and actresses. We still miss these old shows and others like it but life must go on.
So as reluctant as I am, I have to bid farewell to these Star Plus channels. Oh, how I wish they would renegotiate, reconsider and work something out in order for them to stay a little longer with us thru Dish because there is still time to do so I think. I will keep my fingers crossed. (Smile) Anyway, who knows why things happen when they do. I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. So it was good, wonderful and amazing while it lasted. Goodbye and thanks to Star Plus and Star Bharat!!! You will be missed.
