“How To Make Crayon Lipstick – Easy DIY Recipe – Ms. Toi”
I love growing and learning various ways in which to pamper myself, incorporate and make healthy changes in my life a little at a time.
I experimented with simple ingredients and learned how to create my own lotions, face cream, deodorant, different kinds of toothpaste, mouthwashes, and soaps. Then I realized the expensive makeup I had been purchasing all these years was not good for my skin and overall health. I figured there has to be a better way…. so I began to learn how to make my own mascara, lip balms, lipsticks, bronzing powder, wet and dry foundations, and nail polishes in a way that is much more healthier and less expensive.
Lipstick or Lip Balms
1. Storage containers, lipstick holders or a lipstick mold. 2. Healthy oils, and vitamin E. 3. Mica powder or various colorful powders. 4. Plain 100% beeswax or 100% beeswax crayons.
Black/Color Mascara’s and Eye Liner
1. Activated charcoal powder or 2. toast some almonds till they turn black and grind them up in a coffee grinder or 3. by catching the black suet from burning a wick on clay or stainless steel tray or diva.
Healthy oils, like castor oil, vitamin E, and/or some aloe vera gel, etc.
A clean empty mascara tube with a brush.
Different colors can be made with various powders or mica powder instead of the charcoal, almonds or black suet.
Bronzing Powders, Dry or Wet Foundation,
I did not realize how easy it is to make your own by using simple ingredients in the kitchen.
I blend powders like cinnamon, nutmeg, cocoa, turmeric, hibiscus or beet powder and a bit of cornstarch or clay to make an amazing bronzing powder or a dry or wet foundation by adding healthy oils. You could even use mica powder as well. But I prefer to not use mica powder on my face.
Beet or hibiscus powder with cocoa or any color mica powder into a small container with a bit of oil to create a soft eye shadow.
Frankin Nail Polish
4 or 5 free nail polish suspension base, various color glitter for nail polish or mica in various colors. Nail polish bottles that contain stainless steel mixing balls in them and nail brush.
The first time I mixed my own nail polish I tried using a kit as they come with everything you need to get started right away. Even the kits are much cheaper than buying the expensive vegan nail polishes which I used to buy sparingly because I wanted the better nail polish that did not contain those 5 dangerous chemicals or I’d wear nothing at all.
A simple base coat and top coat still need to be purchased and I still buy my nail polish remover from Zoya or Spa natural.
