Yes, I see it all the time……
us women running out of time, doing too much,
not feeling well, and slightly run down.
That’s why I take a little time for me.

Yes, I see it all the time…..
us women running out of time, moving too fast,
we can’t slow down enough
to take a necessary break
spending some time to create and take good care of yourself.
That’s why I take a little time for myself.

One thing I know is…
If I don’t have time to pamper myself then I know my life has become way too busy and it’s time to set the record straight and lay aside a little time to take care of me.
For me there aren’t enough ways how to love myself and take good care of me but, it’s all too easy to go into neglect mode these days, as I’m coming from a woman’s point of view because we have to wear so many hats.
Mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend, employee, homemaker, cook, nurse, maid, and the list can go on and on. Then there are those distractions that help to spiral us into moments of a busy frenzy all so we can forget how much we are hurting, worrying about problems and the state of the world as we lose track of time sometimes.
Not paying attention to the tiny signals that say my pampering time is way past due. I know when I see my nail polish starting to look kind of raggedy, speckled, chipped or my skin is kinda dry and lost its luster. When I feel worn, tired, stressed, exhausted, or fearful. And if I’m looking busted and worn down. Have a slight cold and am feeling under the weather. Then I know it’s way past the time.
But if I step aside sometimes and let go of all negative feelings if just for a moment. Spending some time to take care of yourself can restore and give strength to go on just a little bit more.
So I prep by starting at least one hour before I have my last meal for the night and my husband massages some warm herbal oils onto my hair and scalp then I wear a plastic cap and towel (letting the oils soak in) as I remove all old polish from my fingers and toenails with remover and cotton balls.
So that’s why every Sunday right after dinner dishes are put away and the kitchen floor is swept and the lights go out for the night. I spend at least one hour doing me.

…soft music is playing, the scent of a lavender candle fills the air,
…a hot shower, I wash my hair,
…dry off, and moisturize all over.
…moisturize and wrap my hair in a clean towel.
…wrap myself in a clean towel.
… soak my feet in some warm relaxing fragrance-filled water.
…and while I am soaking my feet, I am soaking my fingernails too.
…dry my nails, trim, and file as needed
… next is my pedicure,
…wash my hands with soap and a nail brush.
…a facial, apply a homemade mask,
….after it dries, washes off then moisturize.
…on goes my nightie.
…moisturize my hands and nails
…apply a few coats of clear polish or a base coat.
…And I am done.
~~~
…I’ll have a cup of chamomile tea and honey,
flip through the pages of a magazine,
watch a little late-night TV,
or spend time creating with some hobby or doing whatever else I like,
or then off to sleep I go.
~~~
and by midweek, I’ll play a soft tune,
apply one or two coats of clear polish on my nails,
meditate and give and send lots of vibrations and love to myself and others,
~~~
So when I can look good it helps to lift my spirit.
