ROBERTA FLACK AND DONNY HATHAWAY
“Back Together Again”
It’s been an amazing few weeks watching as Anshuman (Mohammed Iqbal Khan) and Paakhi (Shraddha Arya) achieved what many a couple wants in life and that is to be together again after their relationship had gotten to a point of no return. There was no hope in sight but they somehow managed to heal and things had fallen in to place as fate was working in their favor in spite of all the hurt and pain they suffered from being torn apart and how current events had ruined them in their progressive loving marriage.
Paakhi managed to meet up with her mother in law Anuja (Anita Raj) and was responsible for bringing the Rathore family back together. She had no idea that this woman was her husband’s mother. The Rathore family had suffered a great deal since the family had split apart when Anshuman’s parents had divorced while he and his sister were still very young children.
It was so wonderful to see the scene when Anshuman and his mother reunited. It brought tears to my eyes that day. It was such a loving wonderful state of events.
So now Paakhi knows the truth about her friend…..that Anuja is her long lost mother in law. And so Anshuman and Paakhi flew back home on the following flight after she gladly won first place but lost the competition with a waiting little son Ayaan (Divyam Dama) walking up and catching them together covering his cute little eyes, smiling and saying “Dad is kissing Mom” to his new grandmother Anuja. That was such a cute loving family scene. It’s so beautiful to see the family get reunited once more. Ayaan was every bit loving all of the attention he was getting from his parents as they kissed, hugged and ogled him and everyone was standing waiting at the doorsteps for Paakhi’s reentry into the Rathore Mansion as her mother in law proceeded with the ceremony.
So Paakhi’s reentry ceremony was initiated and carried out by Anuja as she started with the placing of a tilak on Paakhi’s forehead, then the waving of the puja tray in front of her, then the putting of a vessel of rice for Paakhi to turn over and spill with her right foot and for her to step in the plate of Alta (a red-colored water) for Paakhi to step into with both feet in order to walk down the entryway leaving behind a path of red Alta footprints which is considered a religious and pious ceremony. This ceremony symbolizes abundance, wealth, health, an abundance of food for the entire household and good fortune being rained on the household all because the daughter in law is as a symbol of a goddess. So Paakhi returned home as Anshuman’s wife once more and the entire family is united because of her efforts and I am so extremely happy for them.
What was really funny was the prank the family pulled on Paakhi and Anshuman just before introducing the brothers to each other. It turns out that Anshuman has a look-alike long lost brother named Deepak/Aryaman (Mohammed Iqbal Khan) that had been put away by his father in an orphanage from birth. So Mohammed Iqbal Khan gets to play a double role here. This is going to bring further excitement to the show I am sure. I just cannot wait to see how things turn out.
Also, I thought this is an amazing opportunity to share this interesting and fun blog I found the other day named “Sparkle with Surabhi.” You can read here as the blogger posts about her experience as a Hindi bride. She has some interesting photos of her own ceremony of entering her husband’s home for the first time. The rice vessel and a plate of Alta are shown and set at the doorway for her as she entered her husband’s home. http://www.sparklewithsurabhi.com/2013/10/karvachauth-diaries-alta-or-mehendi-for.html
