Cricket is Wicked: Dil Bole Hadippa!

Never before have I watched or played the game of cricket but I tell you after watching this Bollywood movie Dil Bole Hadippa… I sure will now!

Cricket is such an exciting game to watch.

In this movie, it was the Indian (Hindustani) cricket team vs. the Pakistani cricket team and it seemed like every year India was the losing team.

Rani Mukerji was superb in this movie as she played both roles of Veer Pratap Singh (young man) and Veera Kaur (young woman).

Rohan Singh (Shahid Kapoor) came from England to check on his father Vikram Singh (Anupan Kher) a big-league coach who pretended to be ill so his son would agree to take over coaching for one season with his losing Indian cricket team.

So when Rohan became the new coach it’s decided to start a new team selection and so the search was on for new qualified team players. Veera got wind of this because she is very talented at the bat with this game and with much hope and excitement decided to walk up to the front of the line filled with only guys and apply to play for the team but the guard at the gate did nothing more but make fun of her.  The guys on line thought she was hilarious and the guard said they were not accepting any applications for Miss India and the moment they did accept girls to play on this team he would send the entire guys home wearing bangles and so they sent her away.

At that poor Veera was so disappointed and gave up on her big dreams of being the world’s first girl cricket batter but sometime later the idea to dress up like a guy came to her when she had to play the role of a male on stage for her manager uncle as she works and dances in a Nautanki.

She says later on in the movie……You can stop her from playing but you can’t stop her from dreaming.

I know this movie has been around for a while but I am just getting to watch it and since I am a Rani Mukerji fan this is another good one for Rani.  Although this movie was made back in 2009 it’s still a very excellent movie.

Well…… I don’t want to tell everything about this movie but I should just leave it to your imagination so you’ll want to see the movie……so check it out if you like….it’s truly amazing!
