Yesterday’s dessert was homemade vanilla ice cream we made with condensed and evaporated milk and it was super creamy, sweet and delicious. It is so cool to just whip up a batch in about 20 to 30 minutes. I always have lots of canned milk in the pantry and a gallon of 2% milk but I don’t always have fresh cream to make ice cream unless I make a special trip to the supermarket for cream. So this is a really super convenient and a last second quick way to make it. So enjoy!

Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream Recipe

6  Ingredients

1 can of evaporated milk (14 oz)

1 can of condensed milk (12 fl. oz)

2 tablespoons vanilla extract

1 pinch of salt

5 cups of milk (2% milk or regular milk)

1 cup of sugar (or sugar free sweetener if you like)

Directions:

Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and stir well until the sugar is totally dissolved. Then pour mixture into the freezer canister of the ice cream maker. Follow the directions of the ice cream maker machine.

You can always top it with any fruit, caramel, chocolate or strawberry sauce, or nuts, homemade waffles, cookies, cake, soda or sprinkles or cone. You can also make butter pecan ice cream by adding a little melted butter and a handful of chopped pecans which is another one of my favorites.
