Here Waiting for Isaac

We spent the majority of the day getting ourselves ready for the Isaac Storm. We are now ready to stay or to run if it’s no longer safe. We put all the outdoor furniture in the sheds. We moved the cars closer to the house, fed the pets, and filled the cars with gas. We also packed our suitcases with 72 hours worth of clean clothes and every little sort to thing we may need. We put food, snacks, water, plastic cups and plates in the car along with a first aid kit. We are also bringing just in case our camp stove with fuel in the car and a pot and pan. If it is safe we are prepared to stay at home as well.

We brought lots of ice for the food in the deep freezer if the electric goes out. We put batteries in flash lights and lamps and we have candles and an extra oil lamp if needed. So we are keeping an eye on the weather forecast and waiting to see which way this storm is going and when it’s supposed to hit New Orleans. It’s a wide storm so we will probably be hit with a lot of rain and winds.

My neighbor has some people staying at her house because it’s safer for them there because they live in trailers. But they will ride with us if we have to get to safety and leave our home. Since we are surrounded by trees galore I am hoping we will not get blocked in because of any of the trees coming down due to high winds thereby blocking the one road way out of here. So we are praying that everything will work out just fine. Also that everyone else around here is safe and sound.
