There is a new Hindi soap on Zee TV channel named “Phir Subah Hogi” that I really enjoy. Its about the journey of Sugni (Gulki Joshi) who is a young Bendi woman, born in the Bedia Tribe who decides to break free from the traditions of her tribe by not accepting a “Sardakhai” (a ritual before entering the trade of prostitution and performing the “Rai Dance” and by the way the “Rai Dance” is absolutely beautiful to watch) and chooses to lead a life of becoming a dignified married woman, but the Bedia Tribe is at the mercy of the Thakur Tribes for through them is their only way of earning a living and are therefore being used by the Thakur’s.

So the story starts out with Sugni (Gulki Joshi) meeting Thakur Malik Vikram (Varun Badola) and eventually they fell in love and currently have set a wedding date. Of course, there are exciting twists and turns along the way. The truth is that life for a Bedni is that they are born (into a caste system) to grow up and financially support their families (financially support the Bedni men of the household too) through satisfying numerous Thakur men for the rest of their lives. So Thakur Malik Vikram (Varun Badola) turns out to be a really kind and unusual man who unlike all other Thakur’s is willing to fight the whole world to get to marry Sugni his love. Her mother Gulabia (Ravindra Mankani) is still beautiful but aging and has lived her life as Thakur Jwala Singh’s (Narayani Shastri) personal Bendi and he turns out to be Sugni’s father which she later finds out. Oh, this show is hotter than hot. It’s a great show and has a huge following right now.

Also, I watched the Star Parivaar Awards 2012 and IIFA Awards 2012 and they were spectacular award stage shows.  These award shows were done with such pomp, special effects, costumes, excitement and beautiful color that a Bollywood loving girly girl like me would never want to miss performances such as these. While watching I cannot help but keep a smile on my face. It’s a pleasure seeing the soap stars looking their very best and all together on one colorful spectacular stage. It’s so nice to see the stars win their much-deserved awards for that year.

And what is great is they now have those shows with English subtitles which makes it easier for someone like me who is still trying to teach myself the language.

I loved Krishna’s (Krishna Singh aka Arhaan Behi of Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya) performance in Star Parivaar Awards 2012, he has to be one of the hottest most handsome male soap stars on the Hindi Serials.  I also enjoy his performance in Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya along with his TV show wife Pratigya Krishna Singh (Pooja Gaur) and his TV father Thakur Sajjan Singh (Anupam Shyam). Thakur Sajjan Singh rocks the show.

Another favorite show I enjoy is Saath Nibhaana Saathiya whose character Gopi (Giaa Manek) who has such a sweet and humble personality is in an arranged marriage to Ahem Parag Modi (Mohammad Nazim) and Gopi won his heart, so things are heating up in the romance department between the two. Gopi has also won the hearts of her viewers along with Kokila Parag Modi (Rupal Patel) her mother in law and in the show this woman rules and runs a tight ship but is so proud and pleased with Gopi. It’s a really great show.

Unfortunately Star Plus has recently replaced Giaa Manek with another actress Devoleena Bhattacharjee who is now playing Gopi and I am sure all of Giaa’s fans are very upset and unhappy about it and that includes me. The show is not the same without her. Star Plus Please Bring Giaa Manek Back!!!

I like to call my self a happy soul, a daydreamer and have a heart of a gypsy. Love to use my imagination. And trying out new things. Life can be so wonderful and enjoyable when I am being positive and releasing.
